Mesh Generation

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation accuracy is often sensitive to the quality of the computational mesh - meshes that are less skewed are usually preferred. At the same time the computational grid has to match any complex shapes that are normally encountered in engineering applications.

Mbrick3 is a piece of software based on a "brick" approach for building the geometrical structure of the mesh while allowing the shapes to be fitted (matched) to the bodies present in the simulation. Currently the generated meshes are output in the format required by the unstructured code PHYSICA but the meshes can be used by any CFD code allowing block-structured mesh. The mesh generation code Mbrick3 was developed by me over the years in the course of working on various computational engineering projects. It is now part of Physica3g.
